FILM SYNOPSIS

The Victoria Film Festival invited entries for a video competition entitled My Victoria: The Capital View. The competition was open to the general public. Participants were asked to create a 1 minute video about what living in the Capital means to them, how it affects or influences their lives, or what they feel is unique to living here, looking to the future or examining our past.

The competition was open to all ages and skill levels, and was designed to encourage the budding filmmaker in everyone. To ensure accessibility, most video recording equipment could be used whether it is a home video camera, digital camera or cell phone. There was no entry fee. The Victoria Film Festival hosted Intro to Shorts Filmmaking classes during the months of October and November as well as holding sessions at the middle schools in the CRD . Come help us celebrate local creativity and our capital city on February 6 and find out who will win the awards.

Jurors for My Victoria Pamela Madoff, Mike Devlin and Patrick Blennerhasset
